    A weekend of mixed fortunes for the various Chieftains teams.


    On Friday night the “A”s had a successful outing against Murrayfield. The match was played in three 20 minute sessions and the Chieftains were able to field a large number of players. Nobody was really keeping score but the Chieftains won by quite a lot to a couple of tries by Murrayfield.


    A Saturday the Chieftains travelled to play Ayr at Millbrae. Widely fancied as potential Premiership champions this season and fielding nearly a full team of former Super Six players Ayr proved a handful for the Chieftains. Their power play resulted in a loss for the Chieftains 34 -17 although as reported in The Offside Line the game was far from one sided.

    Meanwhile back at Malleny the Chieftains Colts defeated Mackie 52 - 21 continuing the very good start to their campaign in the top Inspiresport National One Conference.

  • Congratulations to Chieftains U18 players Ben McDonald and F Philips who were selected to play for Edinburgh District against Glasgow. Ben scored the opening try in the 42 - 26 victory for the Edinburgh team at Bridgehaugh last weekend.
